Default I need a new keyless remote

So when I bought my new b I was given what i'm assuming to be the valet key only, no remote or anything to turn on/off the alarm lock it etc. I was wondering where I could go to get a remote, i'd prefer to stay away from after market, but if its not possible to get one thats specifically for a vw then i'll do that, any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

The valet key will still activate and deactivate the alarm when you use it in the door. My husband just has that key and it works fine. Have you tried it on everything? Mine works everything (even though technically its not supposed to...might have to do with not having an immobilizer?). You can usually get a remote on Ebay but you basically have to get it cut at the dealer.

When I got my car, they told me I was going to get a second key (they were waiting to get it from the PO) but I never did. So I went back to the dealer and got a second for free.

The only way to activate the alarm on my car is if the trunk is completely shut then it beeps. The drivers side door isn't lockable (or unlockable at that) from the outside but the passanger door can do both those. I'll take a look on ebay though and see what I can get. Thank you for your help!

You might have another issue besides the key then. The valet key should open both doors and lock them. Locking the car activates the alarm. Might have a microswtich problem.
