Default New Beetle shaking noticeably. Help!

Hello all,
After surfing around I haven't found anyone with quite this problem. About a week ago, on the way back from a short trip (10 miles maybe), I notice that my New Beetle is shaking. The whole front shakes while the vehicle is in motion and going straight. Once I am in a turn, be it left or right, the shaking stops, then as soon as I straighten the steering it starts up again. It felt like the car was falling apart!

Fast forward to today, I lift my car and check to see if the tires have any play. The drivers side has almost no play, but the passenger side has about a cm of motion with the steering wheel locked. Here's a video showing the play:

My question is, what causes this? How can I fix it? I'm not afraid to take the whole car apart if I have to, but I wanna make sure i'm going in the right direction.
Thanks!

Tie rod, wheel bearing, or steering rack. Without seeing behind the wheel, I couldn't tell you which.

Seems to be that part. When I move the wheel left to right, the movement stems from the boot shown here.

Thank you VERY much for the help. It was the Tie Rod, the little ball thing was worn and it was causing the play. Just swapped it out and it runs like a champ again.

Thanks!
