Default Keyless remote question

I just have a question about the keyless remote. My wife's remote stopped working on her '06 Bug. Is it just a simple thing of replacing the battery or do I have to have it installed at a VW dealership? Also, is this an expensive proposition? I appreciate anyone's help. Thanks!!

To me it sounds like a simple battery issue. I would replace the battery first before bothering with the dealership.

In any auto parts store they usually have a keyless remote battery checker. Just point, shoot, and it'll tell you the strength of the battery.

I don't know how many keyless remotes you have, but you should attempt a re-program (listed in your manual).
If you don't have a manual, let me know, I'll scan mine in for you.

Hope this helps!
