Default 99 NB Hood will not latch

I replaced the radiator on my 1999 New Beetle and after putting everything back together, my hood will not latch. If I shut the hood it looks like it is closed but if I lift up on it the tongue will pop out and I can open the hood without pulling the lever inside the car. It seems like something is not catching like it is supposed to. Anyone have this problem?

Do you have a bra on your car? This kept happening to me recently until I finally took the bra off. It had been on there for a couple years without giving me any problems, and then all of a sudden it would never shut. Just a suggestion, and good luck!

Lower the hood so it latches part way and then give it a push down gently with your hands spread apart on the edges. You don't want to force it all in one spot but the hood on one of my NB's has never latched well but this works every time
