He is referring to the attached photo (of a Jetta, he no longer owns a new beetle)
I didn't see that symbol on my blown cluster but I'll try and post a photo of the cluster when the car is on when I get my camera back. Thanks for all your help. I appreciate it very much.

ABS, ecu's, throttle bodies, air mass meters, and catalytic converters and for $80 they rebuilt my cluster and I didn't have to buy a new one and since it was my old cluster I didn't have to have it reprogrammed. It took 4 days for them to rebuild it. If you still have your old cluster I would do this and then take the other cluster back.

Thanks for the info. I will definitely look into that. Will the car still work without the cluster though??? Or do I have to wait it out???

Default Cluster

Mine would start but not stay running without the cluster. It took them a whole 2 days to fix it plus shipping it took about 6 days in total. Its amazingly simple to take the cluster out and its far cheaper then buying a new cluster.

Since the LCD display on Peaches is acting up, I'm saving the Link and will be planning for a reman job! Thanks!

A new cluster at ECS is $46.00. I'm just stuck with having no dealers around to program the new one.

Take a look again at post #12. VAG-COM should be able to help you with the reprogramming without going to the dealer. Its a somewhat pricey piece of equipment, but when you are talking about such expense to get your car to the dealer, it might be a worthwhile investment. It will also allow you to read and clear codes with ease.
