My brake warning light started flashing recently. I know that it usually means that the brake fluid level is low.A quick check indicated that the level was indeed low. I brought the level back to normal and took the car for a test drive. My problem is that the light is still flashing even though the brakes work normally and the fluid level has not changed .Any idea what the problem might be?

Scan the ABS module and see if there are any fault codes. A flashing ABS light is really not much to go on... all we know is the car is trying to tell you something.

Not my abs light flashing its my brake light. And it beeps. Like when you have your ebrake on, the brake light is coming on, flashing, and beeping. My abs light has been on since I bought the car. I have parked her till I know what's going on. I really don't want to take her to auto zone or somewhere but I may have to. May have to wait till after baby is born.

Mine does that too. Again, ABS light has always been on, and as I drive around, not stepping on the brakes, the brake light comes on.
I was told that it "thinks" that the brake fluid level is low, but it isn't. Brake level is fine. I know that the ABS doesn't work. But I had the car for a month and the regular brake light NEVER came on. then one day it popped on. Also, I noticed that in the cold, it comes on immediately as soon as I start the car. But if the weather is warm, it can be between 5-30 minutes before it comes on randomly. And my mechanic had no clue why. At least I'm not the only one with this problem. I do wish someone would know why this is happenning though. ![]() |

You need to get the car scanned with VAG-COM. Its the only reader, aside from the dealer, that can read codes from the ABS system.
