Default driver's window won't go all the way up

My 2000 beetle driver's side window will not go all the way up, it stops at about 2 inches from being shut. Sometimes it will go to that spot and come back down. I hear no noises.Could this be the regulator? How hard is that to change?

Could be the regulator. Could just be dirty window channels. Give them a good blow with an air gun and then squirt some silicone spray down the rear channel and work the window up and down some. Repeat a couple times if necessary. I had the same problem and this has been working great for a year now.

If not, then it could be early signs of regulator failure. Its a relatively easy job if you're patient and read up on the procedure first. Don't buy the whole regulator, just get the repair kit. Should be about $50.
