Default racing a TDI?

Does anyone take their ND to track days for SCCA or other's? I would love to take my TDI 5 speed to a road track for a day.

Several people over on TDIclub race their cars. There is info spread all over the site, but here's a good place to start:

What are a good first few mods for pepping a TDI for a race on a track or normal pep period?

First thing I'd look into for decent gains would be a chip.

This info applies to the older ALH engine:
1. Nozzles
2. Tuning

Many (like myself) do this at the same time. It is the most bang for your buck and gives the most substantial power gains. Any more than this and you are going to need a stronger clutch and other supporting mods.

3. Bigger turbo + tune to match, exhaust
4. Upgraded intercooling (bigger SMIC or FMIC)
5. Lift pump and/or 11mm (automatic) injection pump
6. Even bigger nozzles

Anything around/beyond this point is where it really starts getting expensive and you go past the limit of the internals (rods, fasteners etc). From here you're talking even bigger turbos, water/meth, lower compression, the list goes on and on. Generally speaking, the "safe" limit for the internals is somewhere around twice the stock power - 180hp/300ft-lbs.

Again...tons of info on TDIclub. Settle in, grab a tasty beverage and dive in.
