Default unplugging instrument cluster ok?

if i unplug the 2 instrument cluster plugs from the back of the cluster and remove and then reinstall the cluster, will my car be stranded? im worried about there being a problem with the immobilizer diasabling the car? or is it not to worry about? I have rosstech , but no SKC code for my car. its a 2003 NB convertible by the way

I'm pretty sure it's no problem to disconnect the instrument cluster, but you should disconnect the negative (ground) connection on the battery before.

Make sure the battery is disconnected.
