Hey I don't know tons about cars & I was told I need a new alternator for my 2001 NB. I was calling around for prices & one guy was asking me about the car questions like what year is it & is it a 2.0 litre ect. & I told him I need a 90amp alternator & he asked me if it had ac I said yes & he told me if it had ac then it needs more than a 90amp.
So my question is if my car has ac does it need more than a 90amp alternator?? ![]()

No it doesn't, it need to be replaced with what the factory put on in the first place, if that was a 90 then replace it with the same. I just changed one on a 2000 with a 2.0 liter with AC and it came from the factory with a 90 amp and it worked just fine for 113k miles. It was also replaced with a 90 amp that works perfect.
