Default 2004 Beetle Headlights keep going out

Daughters car, and I have had the driver side replaced twice and the passenger side once within the past 3 weeks.

Its obviously more than a bulb burning out.

I plan to take the car to the dealership tomorrow and am wondering what I can expect to hear. I am praying this will not cost a small fortune as I fear there is an electrical problem somewhere.

Thank you for your help!

Are you sure the bulbs were not touched during installation, any oil from your skin will cause premature failure.

I had the same problem on my '00. Basically when I took it in they told me that I would need to buy a whole new light wiring harness and what not. I took it to one of our mechanics and all he did was electrical tape the wires. Replaced the bulb (Yes, be sure not to touch the bulb). I did this to both head lights and they have been working for 2 years now and counting.

It's a really easy fix!

Apparently a common problem -
