Default Windshield wipers sweep once or twice on startup

I found only this thread regarding the wipers moving on their own?

Windshield Wipers "think on their own"? Known problem?

my issue is they ONLY do it on startup...thats it. Could the switch still be bad? Is this not a common problem?

Mine do that, replace the wiper relay. If it is really quite, you should be able to hear the "click" from the relay.

so i took the relay out and took it apart. noticed a little calcium deposit on the back of the board...nothing huge...cleaned it with alcohol and examined all parts. nothing is corroded or burnt out. still having the same problem. should i try one from a junker?

Ditto the bad relay, regardless of what you are seeing. Left unrepaired, you will ultimately have a wiper wear pattern in the windshield glass and it's rough on the wiper blades.
