MORAV, the battery I got was $35. Cheap, but it does the job. I'm hoping my other half will get the hint and get me a good battery for Christmas.

I had similar problems when I had my previous 2000 beetle. It got to the the point that I had to be jumped all over the ISU campus when it got under 35 degrees outside. It turned out that my alternator and battery had to be replaced. I can't remember what the original problem was because it was a few years ago, and the dealer messed up the alternator install the first time around.

If the new battery does not fix your problem, then I would have your alternator checked. I didn't have that problem the winter after I had the work done.

Good luck!

I'm changing my tag by my name. lol. everyone does that!

New battery seems to be taking care of the issues. I did some data logging with my VAG and saw my boost was taking an awful long time to kick in. Probably caused by my short ram though. The tradeoff of better pull at higher speeds is worth it.

Hello Randi, not a boy,

I to have a short Ram intake on my Beetle but haven't noticed any delay in boost. Perhaps your Diverter Valve isn't what it used to be. A short Ram intake shouldn't delay your boost to kick in. Get a REVO Stage 1 tune and it will improve your boost and make you believe that you just reincarnated Herbie
