Default Brake light problem

I have a 2003 NBC that has a new issue. If the headlights are switched off both brake lights work fine. When headlights are switched on the right brake light & tail light go dark when brake is pressed. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Kevin

Make sure you have the correct bulbs... and they are installed correctly.

Many times this is a failure of the brass contact ring inside the brake/tail light bulb socket. If this is suspected to be the problem, gently bend the small brass contact ring (ground) inward a little. This will increase the contact pressure to the bulb's shell. Also clean the contact until it shines.
