Question IMMO Light stays on

Hey Guys, I recently bought a 2000 Beetle GLS, 2.0L, 5-speed with only 1 key. Being aware of the proverbial "1-key nightmares", I bought a new flip key with fob, transponder and keyless entry chips (all new); and had the key cut. So far, so good. I then used a vag-tacho 2.5 to obtain the pin # and program the new key. All went very well, and now Both keys are programed and work perfectly; including both remote entry fobs including panic buttons. Now for my problem ! Since the programing, the IMMO light on the cluster stays "on" solidly lit until the ignition is turned off. Before the procedures, no cluster warning lights were on at all. This has me a bit confused and somewhat concerned. I'm anal about "check engine and warning lights"! They drive me crazy so I must get to the bottom of this and fix it. Has anyone experienced this and/or have any idea as to what is going on? All replies greatly appreciated!

It seems that your Immobilizer did not like your fob programming. Have some one with VCDS (aka Vag-Com) scan it for codes.

I know its been a while, but this was the first thread in google about it when I was trying to find a solution.

Under select ECU there is airbag.
turn on the engine and connect to airbag.
click Clear ECU Errors
disconnect
turn engine off.
turn back on and it should be off.
