Default question about NB I'm looking at

Not sure if this is the right section to ask but, I was wondering if anyone could tell me if these wheels are a VW stock option?
Also if the exhaust looks stock?
I'm going tomorrow to test drive it and look it over. It's an 04'GLS 1.8t vert Thanks

That is No and No. Definitely not stock wheels and the exhaust tips are not stock. Since Most Beetle's don't have Exhaust tips showing. It could be an aftermarket exhaust or perhaps just some aftermarket exhaust tips.

Is it Manual or Automatic? If it is an Automatic make sure it shifts properly and try the tiptronic in manual mode to see if the manual feature works. The early automatic transmissions have been very troublesome and the valve bodies are known to fail. Also ask about the timing belt service. If it hasn't been performed you may want to put it on your to do list. Dealers will charge 1100-1600 Dollars to perform this service but most VW shops charge about 750. Or you can do it yourself for about 254 in parts.

Good Luck and let us know how it goes.

Lol..I just looked through a couple of websites with NB wheels and didn't see them on there
Yes it is an auto, and I've read about the tranny issues so I'm going to take a nice long test drive with it. It only has 49k on it so I assume the TB hasn't been done but, I'll check for records.
I did look up the VIN on VW and it still has the recall for the coil on there.

WOW, pretty low miles for an almost 9 year old car. I am sure it didn't have the timing belt done. Remember it isn't always about mileage. Age has a lot to do with it as well and if the timing belt service hasn't been performed yet it will still have the crappy plastic impeller water pump which has known to disintegrate. Just look it over real well and make sure it's what you want. Ask them about the coils. There are 4 of them on a 1.8 since they have coil on plug and not just one central coil.

Good luck and let us know if you get it.
