Default Coolant leaking from water pump area!

Had the timing belt and water pump changed out at 95K car now has 125K.

If all that is bad is the o-ring.

Should I be ok with just replacing it and closing it back up(if it all looks good) or should I do the whole deal again?

Thanks in advance for any help or advice!

Well, if you can just get to the water pump I would just replace it instead of the entire timing belt kit since you have another 45k miles left on the belt. But it's up to you.

Perhaps it is the O-Ring but it could also be the waterpump itself leaking.

Was the water pump replaced with one with a plastic or metal impeller?

Metal.

Maybe I will just change the water pump, the belt and the stretch bolts.

If water is coming from the flange around the pump it is the 'O' ring and can be changed. If the water is coming from the center shaft it is the pump seal so the pump will need changing.

My thought (depending on milage you do) If it is just the 'O' ring then change that. If the pump is at fault do the belt too. Why spend over $100.00 when a 50 cent 'O' ring will solve the problem? Biggest money is in the pump so to buy the belt too is only a Spaghetti Western so it is up to you.

It was just the o-ring!!

I think I am just going to do the whole deal. I will sleep on it and order some parts in the morning

I am already in there and it really is not to hard at all.
