Testing fuel pump relay and pump
So our '05 NBC with 75k miles just left us stranded for the first time. Luckily at a family members house. I noticed that the fuel pump was not running when the door was opened. The engine turns over but never fires. The fuse in the side of the dash is intact so I'm down to the relay or pump itself. I do not have a VAG-COM, although I really want one soon anyway's.
How can I test the relay? I'm guessing I can test the power to the pump connector with the key on to check the relay? And if it has power then the pump is bad? I'm not sure exactly which color wires to test the voltage to. Maybe someone can help me out with the diagnosing or offer a different suggestion if I'm off base. Thanks guy's!
