Angry Condensation Inside the Car

So I went to leave the house today and was going to drive my wife's beetle because it needed to be driven. I had to get the ice scraper to get the frost of the windshield. As I was scraping I realized I wasn't getting all of it and I was confused. So I got back in the car to check and see if it was warming up so I could just use the defroster, and to my amazement I realized the frost was on the inside of the car on all windows...

The passenger side mirror house is busted off so I am thinking that is allowing moisture to get into the door panel and up out by the window causing condensation, are there any other ideas? I think my father-in-law said it could be something about a compressor or something not draining.

This car is officially names BattleBug due to the way it looks and all the problems it gives me...

If water is getting inside the car; you need to find it or at some point mildew will start to grow. Once mildew starts it is almost impossible to get it out.

Excessive moisture can be controlled by using Borax or Baking Soda; an open box of either will absorb the moisture in a closed car. Usually takes between 24-48 hours.

Word of caution, do not drive with the windows down, unless you want the entire interior powdered!

Damp Rid works great for getting moisture out of the car and you can drive around with it in the car with no issues. Used it on several cars with water leaks, etc.

But you do need to find where the leak is coming from. Do you have a sunroof? Could be clogged drains if you do.

just to elininate the heater core run your defroster for a little bit and see if you get condensation inside your windshield

It isn't the heater core. The condensation doesn't appear while running the defrost.

Underneath the floormats is soaked, so it does sound like the sunroof drains. How do I unclog them?

Call your dealer and find out if your car falls under the sunroof drain recall.
