Default Replacing the Sunroof Shade Headliner

I'm changing out my headliner with new material. The question I have is does anyone have experience in replacing the Sunroof Shade Material??

I could remove the sunroof frame w/ sunroof attached but am slightly concerned about leakage after install.

Can anyone give me some suggestions?

I even considered trying to replace the material leaving the sun shade in place.....

You don't need to remove the whole sunroof and frame. Just put the sunroof in the up position and remove the three torx bolts on either side and remove the glass and set it aside. Then from above remove the small screws that hold the glides to the sunshade and the shade will slide right out. After that replacing the covering should be pretty straight forward. You'll have to unsnap the handle part of the shade to wrap it then just reassemble in reverse order. Hope that makes sense...once you get the glass out I think you'll understand the rest...

Forgot to add...just a piece of advice...take a paint pen, marker or even nail polish and mark around the edges of the torx bolts before you remove them so you can get it back in the same position. The holes they go through are slotted to allow for adjustment. An awl to would work to mark them as well. I didn't mark mine before removal so I had to play around with it when i re-installed it to make sure it wouldn't leak.

This worked well for me.. Thanks alot 300exoh.. Also.. be careful when you remove the handle on the shade... the plastic is brittle and will break easliy. I'm in need of one at the moment because mine broke and will not stay in place. Any ideas guys....

Awesome. Be sure to post pics of your headliner when its done. I need to get the material to get mine done now.

I have to give some credit to chnaman for explaining how everything went together when I bought my sunshade from him...
