Default After market radio to be replaced on 2003 vw

I had to pull out an aftermarket radio that does not work--on used 2003 vw just purchased. Someone had rewired the connection. Can this harness be replaced to again use a vw radio?

Certainly. Your best bet would be to cut the harness out of one from a junk yard and wire it in yours. Its a simple matter of matching colors on the wiring. I would use butt connectors and electrical tape to make sure you have a good permanent connection. When I got my 99 it had an aftermarket radio and they had cut the stock wiring as well. I really wish people would spend the $15 or whatever it is for the harness to connect things the right way. Then its plug and play and very easy to return to stock.
