Exclamation blown fuse

My wifes '99 beetle has developed a problem with blowing a fuse. It is the 7.5 amp that powers the temp sensor and clock. It worked great until about 2 months ago when it started blowing this particular fuse. Everything else woirks fine. No rhyme or reason to it. The brake warning light on the dash will illuminate and we know the fuse has blown. Has anyone had the same problem and found a fix or does anyone have a clue to where I can start looking?

Turn OFF your rear window defroster and see if this keeps fuse from blowing. That is what blows my fuse. The cruise also will not work when the comfort system fuse is blown. My defroster element is good so have not a clue as to why it blows when defroster is turned on.
Also, does your rear defroseter work??

Thumbs up Blown Fuse

My problem has been solved. Seems like the problem was in the brake switch. I found out that there was a recall on the recall, on the brake switch. Took it into the dealership, they did the recall and everything is working like new.
