Default heater a/c blower fan.

My heater a/c fan is just about toast I think.

I turn it on, and it seems to work OK, although it does not put out as much air as I think it should. After a while, it seems to slow down a bit, and from time to time it makes a rumbling noise. If I have the radio on a low AM frequency, the fan introduces a lot of noise to the radio. And sometimes the fan just stops after a few minutes. Turn the fan off, and back on a few minutes later, and it works again.

Does this sound like the fan motor? Does anyone have any idea how to replace that fan motor?

Thanks, Mathew Banack

*: Pry off (2) switch console covers (where emer. flasher/ def. switch are)
*: remove (4) mounting screws
*: pull switch console down from bracket

Here is something to consider: When was the last time you changed your cabin air filter? If you've got a clogged filter, it is going to put more stress on the fan and it won't blow as much air.

I don't think this is the problem you're having, but its good maintenance anyway.
