Default Trailer Hitch Question

I was looking at the following two hitches. Both state that they're incompatible with the "turbo S" models. I'm unclear about what a "turbo S" is.

I have a 2004 GLS TDI. My car has a turbo (this much I know) but does the "S" in "GLS" mean that my car is in fact a "turbo S" model?

TIA.

A Turbo S has a different rear end than all the other models. Different rear valance and stuff.

You'd know if you had a Turbo S. And no the S in GLS doesnt meant Turbo S.

there's 4 main broad categories that a beetle can fall into...

2.0L
TDI
1.8T (which has some subgroups and specials)
Turbo S (which is essentially another special edition 1.8T, but in my eyes it gets a separate category)

each of the first 3 had different trim levels, including but not limited to GL, GLS, GLX, etc.

basically, turbo s models have the 1.8T engine and some unique bodywork (the reason for trailer hitch incompatibility) and interior styling.

so no, yours is not a turbo s. it's a TDI GLS.

How do it work? It almost looks like it's designed to swing out somehow??

Default hitch

This cost me about $160.00, And it took me about 6 hours to install with wireing,Beer and 420 smoke breaks included I was using it to haul a car dolly around with the new job I got a few weeks ago. First day on the job, I ran a motorhome under the wrong canopy and was fired on the spot.
