Default Help! Directional flashers are dying!

Over the past 2 weeks my directional flashers began clicking erratically, and now they both (right and left) just tend to die after 3-4 clicks. What part do I need? I do not wish to take this all the way across town to the VW dealer and I'm hoping my usual repair shop can do it, but I need to tell them what to look for (and where to look for it).

Cool

The first part I would check would be the turn signal flasher unit. Replacement should be inexpensive...

Default Electronic Flasher/Signal Lamp Indicator

To Anyone who knows,

Could someone tell me where the part Electronic Turn Signal or Hazard Warning Lamp outage indicator is located on the 1999 Beetle. I have replaced the fuses but still do not have any turn signals of flashers. I know this part will fix the problem, I just can't find it, not even in the owners manual. Any help would be appreicated.

Jay

Cool

It seems that the flasher unit(s) is located behind the emer. flasher button beneath the vent controls. Pry off the two trim covers on either end of that lowest panel assy. Remove the two screws on the face and the two underneath to access the flasher unit...
