Default brake light switch

I have a 2000 nb and I had the brake light switch replaced last year when I couldn't get out of park(no charge) and today it is stuck again in park. Anyone know if the recall is good for more than one replacement?

I was getting ready to post a similar question....

Which item is the brake switch that causes the car to not come out of park in an automatic...

This guy... ($5)

or this guy? ($9.50)

If VW did the replacement under recall, the part should have a 12 month warranty, I'd call and find out.
