Front End Rattle

Hey everyone--I have a 2000 gls bug with 81k miles. I recently noticed that at low speeds I am hearing a metallic clank from my drivers side wheel area when I hit a bump at low speeds. Any ideas what this could be? I was thinking maybe shocks or struts, but my tires are in good condition and were recently balanced and aligned, with no abnormal wear. Any help would be appreciated!

mine has been doing this too....i have a 2000 gls with 82,000 miles on it....it's the drivers side wheel....like a popping clanking noise when i go over bumps and turn
