First and foremost, endless thanks and praise to Justin; for whom none of this would be possible.

Today is Monday, so it's been two days since the replacement and everything is running perfect. It's been kinda hard getting readjusted to the power brakes for me, but it's getting much easier to gauge the brakes now.

As for the process, I won't go into much detail (I'm saving that for a "How To" that Just and I are going to make). But this ended up being about a 4-5 hour job. Give or take. No part of the job was all that difficult, really, it was just the fact that there were so many things preventing us from being able to pull the bad booster out and put the new one in. There was also a few steps completely left out of the Bently manual that ended up being pretty important.

All in all, it was an overall success in every way. I learned a lot. I'm pretty sure Justin learned some things (since he already knows a LOT). In the process we found a couple small things that needed to be corrected in the car, as well.

As for pic 4, this is the diagram in the Bently manual.
Way to go Scott for realizing the dream some crazy NB fanatics (me ) have of curling up with their bug I swear I would park mine in the bedroom if I could only get it in there.

If you'll excuse me now, I have to go downstairs and check if Ladybug is comfortable. *leaves abruptly*

Yes, it works on engine vacuum.... which still means it has to be air tight. Suction and pressure are two sides of the same coin.

Incidentally, tractor trailer air brakes work identically to a car's brake booster, with the exception that one uses pressure and the other uses vacuum. It's a big air tight chamber with a heavy duty spring. In the case of a big truck, air pressure puts pressure on the spring which releases the brakes - if you lose air pressure, the spring releases and locks the brakes up, stopping the truck in an emergency. Same technology, different application.

But once again, what does this have to do with anything?
