For some strange reason the math looks different in the US than home.

I got stuck at question 1 and couldn't answer a single one.
I failed basic math when i was doing the college thing. I think i'm at about a 4th or 5th grade level with math. i know the basics and nothing but. My head is throbbing right now, no joke, just from looking at those questions. I hate math so much. I have a calculator with me at all times.
