Houston to Roswell Caravan Official Information June, 2008

Thursday, June 19th

Houston -- Meet at the Denny's Restaurant on FM1960 just north of
Highway 290 by 7:30am for a short meeting before cruising out at 8am.

Route – UP 290 towards Austin. 290 to TX-21 which turns into TX-71
West. Take the 290 exit to the left and the Albertson's parking lot
will be an immediate right.

Austin – Meet at the Albertson's parking lot at the junction of 290
and TX-71 in Oak Hill at 11am and we should be ready to cruise by
11:30am.

Route – Down 290 straight into Fredericksburg – 67.9 miles. Once in
Fredericksburg, Chilli's will be on your right side , 515 East Main
St.

Fredericksburg – We should be there by 1pm and we'll cruise out again
at 2:30pm. There are plenty of gas stations in Fredericksburg, and
several other restaurants if you want to eat somewhere else.

Route – Through town, pick up US-87 North. 145 miles and we're in San
Angelo.

San Angelo – the Day's Inn (325/658-6594) is on US-87 North on the
left hand side. We should be there by 5:30pm. We'll probably be
heading out to the local Sonic to hang with the local VW club for
dinner.

Friday, June 20th.

San Angelo – Meet at 8:30am to cruise out at 9am.

Route – Continue on US-87 North into Lamesa – 130 miles. K-Bob's
Restaurant is on the freeway at 2200 Lubbock Highway on the left hand
side of the road.

Lamesa – K-Bob's Restaurant. We should be here by 11:30am – Eat and
refuel and we're out of here by 1pm.

Route – Continue up US-87 for a short distance, turn right onto US-
180 for .6 mile, turn right onto TX-137 for 35.5 miles, turn left
onto US-385 for .2 miles, turn sharp right onto TX-137 for 1.2 miles,
turn left onto US-380 which will take us right into Roswell!

Roswell – Enter on US-380, right on Main Street, Sally Port Inn (Host
Hotel) is at 2000 N Main Street, 505/622-6430. We'll park there, get
our reservations taken care of and snarf the goodie bags – then
scatter for our prospective hotels. ***(We will be staying at the
Days Inn in Roswell, 505-623-4021) ***
