Wished I could have gone. I've been unemployed since September. This is the first one I've missed Maybe next year, if there is one. Hope everyone had a good time.

Bobby & Tina -

That might have been Howie, Lisa, Jerry and John & Laura. They had lunch with me in Amarillo about 2 and they left about 3.

Glad you got home safely. I got home technically at 2 since I live in Canyon/Amarillo. I just didn't get back to my house until after 3.

Good to see you guys again.

We were with the returning Central group of 6 this morning. Here are a few pics of the day and the cars. The "people" pic was one of the last I took before I had to leave the group and turn off the highway at my home town. I was partially brain dead from road fatigue today and didn't get a shot of the whole crew but I wanted to post this pic of our final parting. The weekend was a fantastic time but the caravans were the most enjoyable part for me. I just want to thank everyone involved for letting Llona and I come to join you all in the festivities. We met some incredible people on this journey!

We left this morning about 10am with Carrie, Rhonda, JoAnne and friend Audrey and Tabitha for Vaughn where my mom and I split from the group for ABQ. I had left my credit card at the fuel station Wednesday so I had to go get it. We rolled into my place 8:50pm. I unloaded all my stuff then washed Daisy.

We had a GREAT time and enjoyed connecting with old friends and meeting new ones. I will post my pictures in a few minutes. See ya'll in 2 years!

That was a fun group...definitely!

We rolled out around 9:30 and into town at 8:30...I was pooped!
Never again a trailer THAT size! Wasn't bad for time though. 9 hour drive with an hour for intermediate stops.

Had fun guys! See you in Two Years!...if not sooner.

I still haven't gotten a full night's sleep. At least I had 5 other Beetles and an FRS to keep me awake. That was a crazy time!

I believe you did! Are you trying to challenge Jacob's record of 40-something states?

So.. finally made it home around 1:30 this morning... not looking forward to work tomorrow!

final total was about 5,000 miles. don't have an exact total because i don't feel like digging out all the gas receipts i kept track of mileage on yet. map shows 4600, but that doesn't include local driving and minor variations in route.

final route

have lots of pictures and stuff, but again... tired!

photos from roswell

nap time now?
