Default Dream Vendors/Sponsors/New Beetles

I have heard people talking about who they would like to have come to future shows. Of course it is up to the vendor/sponsor to decide if it is worth their time and cash-ola to make it out, maybe a list of what people would actually like to see out there might help the organizers for future shows.

We had something like this for the TNBRU running each year and it was always really a good thread to have for brainstorming. Especially when it comes to "Famous New Beetles"

I know the Jet Beetle has been contacted several times... he doesn't seem to want to make the trip from Cali to New Mexico.

The TNBRU always asked local businesses that used New Beetles as an advertising vehicle to show up and promote their business...we would get a tanning salon and the Truely Nolan bugs out often. We had also contacted Southwestern Airlines about their bug, but never got them to come out.

I noticed in the past that the Shamu Sea World bugs came to Roswell.
Any more people can think about that are still using NB's to promote nationally?

Any vendors that you wish to be contacted for 2011?

Post 'em up and discuss, if you are so inclined - research it and post up contact info to help out whoever ends up contacting folks for the show.

Bugsgogo...even if he is only taking preorders and delivering at the show would be great

The Rackabug people were fantastic too...

If Ross-Tech doesn't want to make the trip, I wonder if they would sponsor someone local to them to fly out with some cables and a laptop?

Could we get a dealer to bring most often requested parts to the show so we could buy them there ?

I mentioned the Chip guys (not potato chip!) from Upsolute, who were there once. They seemed to do a booming business.

Getting Randy from TVA, or someone from New Dimensions, would be good. I don't know why they haven't returned. Rich from VW Toys didn't come out this year because we weren't in the Convention Center, so maybe there's some reasoning there. They like to sell in a nice air-conditioned place (can't blame them).

How about someone who sells VW/NB clothing and merchandise? Besides VWoA, anyway.

Cool

I don't know if it's normal, but I tie dye like a pro. I could get some printable iron on material and do up some vw tie dye shirts. I'm sure I could put on a whole shop by the time the show rolls around, would just have to figure out how to run a booth and show off my buggy at the same time.

So, I guess my question is, would this be a good idea? I have never been before, so I don't know.

Thanks!

Hi Moongrrl!

That sounds like a neat idea and there is talk of having a little area on the side for people selling NB items, so you wouldn't have to sell out of your beetle and show at the same time!

Tie dye shirts are FUN! Can you by chance make Hyper color shirts? Does anyone remember those?

OMG yes I remember them...but I have never made one. I think that might be something that has more to do with the type of fabric? Not sure but you have me curious now!

I love tie dye. I love my buggy. I want the world to know that, lol.

I was rude...

Hi Back Shonnel!! My 7 yo daughter LOVES ur car. I told her about it after I had looked at the pics, now she always talks about how she is going to have a pink bug someday! You are somebody's hero...

did it drive you completely nuts having your car blasted into pieces? I think I went temporarily insane when I decided to overhaul the interior...and it all started with a fallen headliner...good grief!!

For those that went to ToD and saw me market my Waterless Car Wash (link in my siggy), would that be something ya'll would want me to bring as well? I might need to get a trailer like Antione does...lol especially with the way Matt packs! (ya'll saw how packed my trunk was right? and that was just TWO NIGHTS!!!) But seriously, if people are interested, I'll talk with my guy and bring some. Or if ya'll want to let me know what you want in advance, maybe I can do pre-orders when the date gets closer and then bring a few extra as well!

Realistically what would take for VWOA to show? I know they are bringing out a re-tooled NB next year. Maybe this would be a good opportunity to show it off.

TVA sounds like a good call too.

In the past it was something like 100-250 cars and 5 years of shows.
But VWOA pulled out of the 9th year because of the economy and low turnout in the previous few years.

I would think it would be worth contacting them to let them know it is going on and let them know that they would have a captive audience of die-hard New Beetle folks.
I think in the past, they basically brought out something that was currently in the show rooms though - like the debut of the Satellite beetle. The only one that was odd was the Herbie year, not sure if it was a movie prop or personal car they had out to the show.
They never made a special trip with a special concept or rare New Beetle.

Not exactly true! Remember one year they brought the whiteboard car! A New Beetle coated in the same surface as a white board. Then they had everyone draw on it. The rocker panels were the eraser shelfs.

Still, I seriously doubt they would get involved, though it's worth contacting them, I think.
