Hm... I have 271k... I'll have at least another 10k on the car before Roswell. I think I'm a contender for the most miles (and possibly, farthest distance).

Howie, has a motel in OKC been selected yet or have I missed it in a previous post? I would like to meet up with the Central bugavan Wednesday night for the Thursday trip into Roswell.

Glad to have you join us! Central is the best caravan!!

The OKC hotel hasn't been confirmed yet, but I will be working on that soon, and posting here and to the website (roswell 2k : return2roswell : 2011). We stayed at the Hojo Express on S. Meridian last time, and will likely again this year.

Two years ago we had 53...in past Roswell's there were hundreds. I would like to see at least 54. Sounds like a good portion of the people from 2009 are planning the trip and a few new folks as well - at least that is the buzz. But I don't think we will have a good idea until closer to time. We have at least 15 rooms as of a couple weeks ago already booked (when I booked mine). We are sending out postcards to previous Roswell attendees this week as well, hopefully we will see a few more folks from that.

kcfoxie - you might be a contender for most miles...if Jacob and the TDI from Cali doesn't show up. I think you have more than Jacob. We could look at last year's results to see how many took it. Howie is traveling from Canada - I'm sure he knows how many miles that is by heart. Though I think we had an Alaskan win last time out. LOL

I too have heard from a few "new folks" for 2011 and some folks who had one car in 2009 are bringing two this year. I know we will be bringing two and I think a pair of TSs will be coming from up around St. Charles. I think we'll have a good turn out this year. I plan on having a great time!

Looks like the Dirtiest Trophy will be the easiest one for us to try to win without to much effort. We may bring 2 cars this year. Too early to know yet.

Yes, it's 1726 miles from Ontario Canada, one way! I'm up for it again, so let's get the word out there and have at least 100 cars turn out.

Default Time to pre-order 2011 show t-shirts!

Hey Guys.

With only just over 2 months to go, it's time to think about ordering show t-shirts!

Pricing will be the same as last time; $15 per shirt, plus $3 extra for 2XL or 3XL. Shirts will be light (sky) blue, but since a few of you have asked for pink (you know who you are!), I will get some of those too. The pink is actually a pastel pink, so let me know.

Shirts are the same excellent quality as last time... digitally printed, 6-ounce weight, double-needle tailored, with taped neck and shoulder seams to retain their shape and comfort for a long time. The neck tag is now printed (tagless).

I will not be ordering as many as last time since I was stuck with a bunch, which BTW, are still available for only $10 each. So, if you don't pre-order, you might be out of luck, since I won't have as many extras available to sell in Roswell.

I ONLY NEED A SHOW OF HANDS, so please email me directly to let me know quantities and sizes (howie@howielipton.com). I don't need/want the money right now. I will let everyone know about payment. You don't need to attend the show to buy a shirt as I will mail them from Roswell.

Thanks, Howie

All you guys staying in OKC on the Wednesday night before, let us know when you're arriving and we can host dinner or something. We've also got room for 3 or 4 people to stay the night to help you save some cash. We love having guests, but fair warning, our house is tiny!

Also... I've just been informed that we do indeed have to leave by noon on Saturday to meet my family in Las Vegas the next morning. LAME. So we'll be there Thursday for the caravan, Friday for sightseeing and Saturday for breakfast. I really tried to avoid this, but my family doesn't listen.

Tell them you will be a day late...or better yet, fake car troubles while in Roswell...while you are saying goodbye to everyone at the car show...while you are spraying detailing spray on your car. LOL

As soon as I get sizes from my peeps I will be dropping you an email. Have you updated your T=Shirt thread...I'll check. Also need to see if we can get that info on the website.

Well, now we're not going. After today's sticker shock for the assload of repairs Ziggy needs, I'm not sure I'll be going ANYWHERE on vacation.

We all have repairs and maintenance... you still have to go!! Cut out some other expenses. You won't want to wait another 2 years.

I think we usually arrive at around 5:30 in OKC, get checked in, and go across the street to Shorty Smalls for 7. You're welcome to join us.

I'm with Howie on this one, Fallon. You'll work through this and we'll be looking for you on the 9th. We only get a chance to do this deal once every 2 years. Can't miss it. You also need to wimp out on Vegas somehow. Your going to miss the show and the banquet. Good stuff. All I can do to help you with the car is send you good vibes. You can be sure they are headed your way. Best of luck.

You are too sweet John! After lots of discussing and freaking out last night, Ryan calmed me down and assured me that we're still going to Roswell. We've decided to leave late on Saturday, after dinner and drive a few hours into Arizona and then meet my sister in Tahoe on Sunday night. It's a 20 hour drive from Roswell to Tahoe, so we have to get at least a few hours in on Saturday night. We're definitely going though!

I tend to have a knee jerk reaction when it comes to money troubles. Today we managed to get that $1500 estimate down to $650. We hvae one more mechanic to talk to. Either way, looks like you're gonna have to put up with me in June!
