The Hampton Inn, and an "across the parking lot" additional hotel, the Comfort Inn, for people that want smoking rooms or have pets. The price will be $80 per night plus tax at either hotel. You can post that the Hampton is adding us to their website and that will be the mechanism for registration - the link to the site will be coming soon, but they are currently in process of creating our section which should be done some time next week.
- Earl
The Hampton Inn and Comfort Inn are basically next door to each other - divided by Tia Juana's - our Thursday night get together location. Link to Map - they mislabeled the map - Hampton Inn is north of TiaJuana's and Comfort Inn is south.

If you have a pets or need a smoking room the Comfort Inn has pet and smoking rooms available.
Hampton Inn & Suites Roswell Hampton Inn Registration Link for $80 discount rate

Comfort Inn (NM005)
- no link, still need to call and speak with the Manager of the hotel.

There were only 53 cars????????? I would have thought more along the lines of 530! I thought this Roswell thing was a huge show. Don't get me wrong; I'll still be there, but that comes as quite a surprise to me. I guess air-cooled Beetles are still more popular, eh? At the Mid-America Motorworks Funfest for Air-Cooled Beetles held in Effingham, Illinois, there are between 1000-1200 Beetles (some New Beetles) on the grounds.

I think the biggest Roswell has ever been was 200. I think the largest I attended might have been around 75-100...trust me, that is an impressive sight.

This past year wasn't typical, the organized original Roswell died in 2008...we wanted to have a 10th year reunion this year so a few of us organized the Reunion show in a few months...didn't have the luxury of a big window of promotion as the original show.

But - with a 2 year window and a date set...people can start saving up and planning early enough that there shouldn't be an excuse come 2011.

Hmm, I could have sworn that we had 300 or so in the second year, but maybe that number is inflated. 250?

In any case, yes, Air-Cooled bugs are more popular. They've also been around much longer than we have!

We were very happy with the 53 cars. It's gotten to where many of us don't go for the cars so much anymore as the people. The cars are just a nice bonus!

Well I'm planning to attend. Roswell is just a tad over 500 miles from my house. Easy drive. TOD is more than twice that.

Ooof, tell me about it! That drive in TX will make or break ya! I went through with no AC, and my ignition switch went out= no headlights (day driver), no horn, no wipers. It's an experience for sure.

And yes, please keep me posted

Wow! And I though I had it bad when I had a blow out in fortworth TX on the way home and no one had the right tire so I had to drive home on the spare. Makes you very nervous. Mainly driving almost a day with the spare tire!
