Default Southeastern Caravan?

So I see lots of caravan talk except for the south east... what's going on with that???

I'm leaving from NC. My route has me taking 40 most of the way.... anyone else want to go with me and Talula?

Hi KC!

Joey and I haven't really mapped out our route yet but I really hope that we aren't the only Floridians making this trek out west. Hopefully someone chimes in soon because this ride alone is NOT what we are looking for. We left from Vegas late in 09 and did the solo route and it was BOOOORRRIINNNGGGGGGGG!!! Hopefully we'll be able to meet up with y'all along the way!

Yes, I would like to meet up with the caravan at Conway, AR (I-40). Keep me posted on schedules. Also, need a common motel in OKC for the "I-40 Roundup".

Looks like that I-40 Exit 127 at Conway is the best I can find. Exits onto Hwy US64E Oak St. Right at this exit is a service station and a Denny's restaurant. Could meet up in Denny's parking lot. I can/will post a map of this rondevu when needed.

bumping this. I've taken the 6-16th off from work. I was thinking of leaving NC Monday and driving to Memphis and hanging out with friends/my folks in N MS. Conway is 2.45 (H:M) from memphis.

Al...paging Al... AL!

My schedule is flexible. I will find the best exit for easy on - easy off for the caravan.

I could take 85 to 20.... I've gone to Austin that way. If Duffy was cool with taking 40 to 240 to 78 down to 20... we could meet up...?

It's an option. I dunno. Too tired to check the map tonight.

At present I plan to take I-40 from Conway, AR to OKC and meet up with the Central Caravan - somewhere. Thanks for the invite to join your caravan, but that would be sorta out of the way for me.

You rang?
Yep, sounds about right Shonnel; I'll be jumping right on I-10 and heading westward.

Still trying to jiggle some coins around to make this trip work- I really want to go.

As far as I know Shonnel, it's just gonna be you, me, Joey, Cup and Lina

Default Alien Invasion?

Roswell in June..........Hmmm. Was there two years ago during the Beetle infestation and didn't know what was going on. Bugs everywhere! Tried to help some folks with an engine/suspension problem in the Wal-mart parking lot. Wife sat in a white convertible NB and she was hooked. Now we own an 06 Jetta and an 02 NB (both TDI)and the gravitational pull of Roswell has taken hold. My old stomping grounds beckon. I'm in Jacksonville so it's I-10 to I-49 to I-20 through Lubbock (I went to Texas Tech) and into Roswell. We would have to go almost straight through due to work schedules and leave Sunday and push all the way home. 3,000 miles in 6 days? I'm not a teenager anymore!

I wonder if Der Stuka would make it?

Once again I say Hmmm.......

Chuckie

Great story...hope you can make it. My 2002 made it to North Carolina and back in the course of a week...so I would think it possible...heck, Al did it last year with a faulty ignition switch!

That would be great if we could meet up in Conway. We can meet at my house if you want.

Kathryn:

Goodie, Goodie, Goodie, someone to bugavan with to OKC. I suppose meeting you at your home would be OK. I had planned to met up with a bugavan (if one comes across on I-40) at exit 127 Denny's because I will be coming in on 64 from Beebe. It appears we are the only bugs on I-40 to OKC at this time. We can plan a met up time soon.

I don't actually live in Conway, I live between Conway and Vilonia right off Highway 64. I'll be happy to meet you at Denny's if you would rather do that. It will be nice to have someone to caravan with to OKC.

Yes, I can met you somewhere on 64 - name the spot. If no one else is on I-40 at Conway, we're good to go.

Default We are in.

Well it looks like Wifey and I are in for the Roswell infestation. We will be heading out late Tuesday night/Wednesday morning from Jacksonville on I-10. We havent made our final departure time and route yet as we are waiting on input from others from the SE. I imagine we would try and hook up with the Texas caravan once we hit the big state. I have friends in San Antonio so we could go the southern route or up through Dallas and out I-20 and up towards Lubbock and branch off on 380 in that big city of Post. I've gone both ways a half dozen times (I went to Tech) so it doesn't matter to me.

Looking forward to hearing from the rest of the SE crowd and their plans. I know TOD is going on in the next few days so when they get back (and haven't been eaten by the dragon) this thread will hopefully pick up. The sooner I can plan the better.

Another Jacksonville dubber???? DuuuVaaal!

Glad to have you joining the fray mang! I'm still hoping to make the trek to Roswell- love the trek last year... I-20 though...!!!

I know Shonnel and Joey will be making the trip as well- they live in Orlando. So if by some chance I can't make it, you'll have another Floridian riding out with ya.

Glad to have you along mate
