Just out of curiosity, on Tue Jun 7, when and where is the Central Caravan meeting in Joliet? BTW, Howie said Joliiet IN, but I assume he meant Illinois.

My original intent was to drive from Eau Claire, Wisconsin over to Minneapolis, catch I-35 and spend Tue night in Des Moines Ia.,then meet up with everyone in OKC the next evening (Wed the 8th)

Joliet would be about 200 miles out of my way, but I just MAY consider this to see more of the old Route 66, especially if it is full of New Beetles! Could someone descibe the itineray from that point? I assume you'd go down to St Louis, Joplin, Tulsa, and then into OKC......

In my opinion, it will be well worth the time and expense to go 200 miles out of your way to meet Central as early as possible. Have you ever experienced the joy of carabugging?

Only to a very limited extent. My VW club has about 45 members, but only about 3-4 VWs (including mine) ever consistently go to other shows together. I suppose I COULD take I-94 down through Madison, catch I-39 at Rockford and take I-80 over to Joliet. But I would still need to know the itinerary before OKC, so I'd know where the rest of you would be, and when.

I think we are all done and just waiting on the clock. Plan to leave Bixby around 12:30 tomorrow and will be meeting Central for lunch at the Rock Cafe in Stroud at around 2 pm. We'll be looking for you guys in OKC. Should be arriving at close to the same time. Everyone have a safe trip. I can't wait to get back in the "pod".

Wilson had a complete check-up at the mechanic's, his oil changed, tires rotated, an alignment, a tire patched, and a thorough detailing. All I have left to do is get his detailing supplies and my suitcase packed and we will be ready to hit the road tomorrow morning.

I'll be meeting everyone at the Day's Inn on South Meridian in OKC after I get off work. Not sure when I'll leave the office. I might leave as soon as everyone gets in. I can't wait!

Well, we got on the road about 11 hours later than hoped for due to somewhat foreseeable but relatively unavoidable circumstances.. so we're not going to be meeting up with everyone until OKC and will be spending the night in elvis's hometown instead. Lol.

We made it to OKC. Wilson (Kathryn) is suffering from an AC issue that Felon is attempting to repair. It appears to be the fuse block on top of the battery.
