It only mentions the DSG. PLEASE tell me that's not the only transmission it will be available in.

What happened to the days where the GTI was ONLY available in a manual.

Curse the automatic. CURSE YOU!!!

AMEN to that Brother!!!

If it is a sports car, it should be a manual...no question about it. DSG has its benefits, but it is not manual...

Yes, why couldn't you?

I've owned 3 SUVs that had manual transmissions, 4WD and did not have manually locking hubs.

Audi, BMW, Subaru, Volvo, lots of manufacturers offer AWD with manual trannies.

Well, it's official. The R32 will ONLY be avaible in the states with a DSG. No manual tranny will be offered here.

wow...that makes no sense. I guess I understand on some level, there are people who will buy them, and as limited as they are, they will sell out. It explains why VW has put so much time recently into thrying to get people to think the DSG is "sporty." The drag racing banner ad they had out recently comes to mind. Cool game, but there is no way the DSG shifts that fast, not IMHO.

The FAST just lost a bit of its fast...

Oh stop it with the whole fast lost his fast thing. The DSG shifts faster than any human can, and you dont lose anything while shifting. I recently went at it with a ford focus sx3 or whatever the two door focus is...while he would drop back to shift a little (not tons but you could see) i was just crusing along with no dips or any interuption of power. I think you should try one out for yourselves before you become experts on it. And yes, i have driven and raced with manuals as well. Im no expert on either but still try out the DSG before saying VW fast has lost a little bit of its fast.

For me, I couldn't care less if the DSG is faster, better on gas, whatever. I just prefer to drive a manual. Plain and simple. And many enthusiasts feel the same.

For those who like the DSG, I have no problem. However, I think it's ridiculous that VW won't even give us a choice at this point.
