Default Changes for the Beetle

So basically there wont be a Diesel engine for 2007, sorry for all you guys who like the 1.9 TDi. Youll have to wait till 2008. But that means there will be a 2008 model.

2007 New Beetle / New Beetle convertible

• More visible location for the Audio Auxiliary input

• Revised wheel finish for 16” alloy wheels

• Revised stitching on leatherette seats resulting in a different look

• Roof trim guides from body color to black

• Deletion of 1.9L TDI engine; All-new Diesel Technology forthcoming for CY 2008

• Special model planned

Color Changes

• New exterior sedan and convertible

– Black (leatherette, leather) / Laser Blue (leatherette, leather)

• New exterior convertible

– Sunflower (leatherette, leather) / Gecko Green (leatherette, leather)

I can't wait to see that black 07 with cream leatherette. I am holding out for one, but the wife is pressuring to make a deal on an 06 Harvest with cream interior, hoping they want to wheel and deal the 06s out at bargain prices. I already got the dealer invoicing and there is only a $110 difference in an 06 Pkg 1 and an 07 Pkg1

That new special model planned could be the return of the Turbo Engine to the line up, that would be really nice!!!!

There are no plans for the 2.0T in the MK4-chassis NB. Never was, never will be. The NB's shelf life is coming to its expiration date very soon, and thus, they will not be adapting the 2.0T to the lineup.

Most likely, it will be a 10AE model with special badging and maybe a few extra HP, but more than likely, it won't be anything too special. The days of Color Concepts and Sports are loooooong gone over here.

NB Sales are up 30% from last year so they haven't killed it yet, and in fact I hear rumour of a brand new NB for 2008 or 2009

Actually, there is a "Sport" model for 2007. It was shown in Silver at Roswell. Unfortunately, the people who were showing the cars for VW came from the public relations company and not from VW directly (they were all at the Rabbit debut) and the guy didn't know what all was different.

Physically, it came with splash guards and a factory wing and the factory spoiler at the top of the glass - not the kind from the 1.8t - but the one that is in VW drivergear. I couldn't see anything else but I didn't have time to crawl all over the car to see what else could be different. I also don't know if they tuned the engine but it was a 2.5l engine. It looked like a package 2 with a few extras. It might have had a different suspension as well - the car sat a little lower than my TDI and the other 2006 2.5l cars.

So there is a sport model.

Edited to update the factory spoiler at top of glass.

Mmmm, 2008 10AE edition. They should remove the sidemarkers for that one.

The New Beetle isn't being killed off any time soon as they are planning on an all new model based on a new platform for 2009.

The special edition for 2007 is a white convertable with a white interior.
