Default Will there be the NEW MODEL of the New Beetle ?

Hi

I'm from Thailand.
I'm having a plan to buy the New Beetle.
NB has been in the market for quite long, almost 10 years now.
So, I'd like to know when will there be a model change?
Or just a minor change for few years?

You know in Thailand, one New Beetle costs about 48,000 US$
So, I need to spend wisely on my hard-earned money.

Anyone has an idea of when will the release the NEW MODEL of the Beetle? I mean the whole changes, not just a minor change.

Thanks,
Kongkiat

The New Beetle just received a refreshening in 2006. New front and rear bumpers, fenders, lights, etc. As well as engine changes. They dropped the 2.0 and 1.8t engines and now offer the 150hp 2.5.

According to several magazines, VW is looking into the next generation New Beetle. They speculate that the New Beetle will continue on as is until approximately 2010. So if a next generation New Beetle is to come, it will be after that time.

Naturally, dealers are to be taken with a grain of salt, but from the info VWoA has been giving dealers at trainings/intranet, they are still planning a redesign.

The Golf/Rabbit is supposed to get a redesign around the same time, aimed at cutting costs (margins aren't very high on those Rabbits right now), and I would assume the Beetle redesign would be done for similar reasons.
