Default VW Chief Says Bush is Full Of Methane On Ethanol

VW says the US concentrating on bio-fuels is wrong and we should be trying to lower carbon dioxide emissions instead... interesting story at the link

I wish they'd bring back moonshine so at the pumps we could put $5 worth into the car and $5 worth into my tummy

I'm a little shocked. I also need more details. Was he talking strictly about Ethanol and combustion-fuel, or was he also lopping in biodiesel into the mix? I can't see the latter as VW approved B05 (even thought B10 is used in my area and used by the dealer) for the PD TDIs and it seems that they of all companies (given the germans brought the diesel to market) would be fans of using a renewable oil for fuel in this engine design. Very sad, very strange. Oh well I still love my bugs.

It looks like there is more to the story. VW is not against BioFuels in general as suggested, just the first generation ones. They also want tax breaks and incentives for using BioFuels to to vary depending on which kinds are used.
