Default Beware! VW will try to screw you out of warranty repair!

I have a 2000 NB. My local VW dealer said my faulty passenger side power window(which just fell into the door) was caused by a broken "door lock carrier assembly" and not the window regulator or the clips. I believed them and paid a ridiculous amount to have it fixed by them (this was before I knew of the extended warranty for the regulator and clips). I know this is BS because my drivers side did the same thing a couple of months later which is when I found out about the warranty. Both sides had the same exact signs of a broken window regulator and/or the clips. I took it to a different VW dealer and they fixed it under the warranty. No mention of any door lock thing.

I knew something fishy was going on here. I decided to find out some information on the part the dealer installed to fix my passenger side window (part #1C0-8376-C and the description of the part on my invoice just says "mounting"-P.S. this was the only part on my invoice other than some rivets). After contacting many VW parts retailers, they all told me that this part is in fact the window regulator. This would then be covered under the extended warranty/recall, right? So, I contacted VW of America and told them this but they still declined to reimburse me for the passenger side repair because they state that this "mounting" part isnt the regulator and when it failed it caused the "door lock carrier assembly" to fail which caused the window to stop working. I know this is BS and obviously by the BS answers I was getting from VW of America that they know it too. VW is lying to their customers to get out of paying for more warranty regulator repairs.

Anybody else been told by a VW dealer that a "door lock carrier" failed and/or have this "mounting" part on their window repair invoice. I have also read here in the forums they claim a faulty "door lock module" causes the window to fail as well. I know I am not alone here. Please respond if this applies to you. I am considering pursuing a class action law suit if I get enough interest from other people that have been screwed over by VW in this way. Also, VW of America did not care that I threatened legal action. They obviously think their customers are fools and that we don't care about getting screwed out of our hard earned $. Thanks everyone! Wish me luck!
