One other thought.

From your previous thread, you keep mentioning how "sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do".

Again, with this thread, I'm not seeing you do that. To be honest, if you really HAVE to get a replacement for your NB because it's in such bad shape. Then why are you even considering waiting for a 2010? Why are you annoyed that those few manufacturers who have 2010 models out, are only offereing rebates on the 2009s?

If you "gotta do what you gotta do" then you suck it up and you get one of the previous year models that are offered at a discount. Not paying a premium to have the newest of the new.

Sorry, don't mean to be harsh. It's actually more of a "tough love" kind of thing. Hate to see you even worse off than you are now, even further in debt, even more upside down on a loan, because you got the itch for a new 2010 model that you don't really need.

pdoel, I am really sick of you. I know in my other thread I asked the question so I guess I deserved to be bashed. You know nothing about me or my life, so just shut up! FWIW, I did get a 2009 with mega rebates. I was just wishing on the 2010 models, nowhere anywhere did I say I was going to wait for them. Just mind your own damn business, I'm sick of it.

My other thread was over a week ago, maybe even longer, I've not been back there because I was sick of reading you putting me down. Now I come here and ask a simple question and you gotta start putting me down again? What did I ever do to you? Get a life!

Wow. You posted on a public forum and got upset when someone responds with something you didn't appreciate?

tonya, there's an ignore feature, in your usercp. Maybe you should look into that. Or don't take things so personal. Either way works. Just don't let this cause drama on the posted forums.

Sorry, but when you post in a public forum, you need to expect to get public responses. That's how these things work.

And yes, I do know quite a bit about you, because you shared your whole financial history with us. I'm not the only one who thinks what you're doing makes no sense for you.

Excuse me for trying to look out for you. But, you know best, and you're going to put yourself further into debt, and probably have your car repossed because you can't pay for it. But hey, you know what's best.

Good luck to you. Enjoy your "Sometimes you just gotta do what you just gotta do" brand new car that you can't possibly afford. And enjoy paying 30% interest because your loan is $5,000 - $10,000 more than the car is worth beacuse you're also paying for the 8 year old car you have now, that you also can't afford.

Sorry for trying to help you out. You know best.

And when that day comes that the bank comes to take your car, don't say we didn't warn you.

Oh, and if you don't want to hear people's opinions, then quit asking for advice / questions on a public forum.

I don't think he was bashing you at all. He was trying to help you see that if you can't afford the 8 year old car you had (you WERE up-side-down in the loan by your own admission) buying a new one doesn't make much sense either. Unfortunately when we put things "out there" on a public forum we're opening ourselves up to scrutiny whether we like it or not.

Anyway, to steer things back to the topic at hand:

I don't see 2010 beetles being much different from 2009. They would have made some sort of announcement or some such by now if there was going to be a drastic redesign.

New Beetle: the longest running A4 on the market.

Hopefully she got a Chrysler or Dodge from one of those dealers closing. I'm sure there were some 'mega rebates' to be had somewhere in that mess.

I got a fully loaded black 2009 Kia Spectra. Her name is Ebony and she is beautiful! As soon as I have time to give her a bath, I'll post some pics in the appropriate forum.

I'm still not exactly sure what I said in my posts where I just asked a simple question about when we would start seeing the 2010s. I had posted a thread previously about my dilemma but that was resolved and I have moved on. I thought this was a car forum, not a forum for financial advice, and I apologize if I was out of line for asking the questions I asked. I'm just here trying to enjoy reading about and looking at some sweet rides!

I can't wait to see pics of Ebony, I'm sure she's pretty. Just make sure you take pics BEFORE you go home

I've heard that VW is planning to phase out the NB. Well, actually I've heard redesign or phase out. Not sure which statement holds water. I'm still upset they dont' have a NB TDI anymore! Guess I'll just wait for the Roadster

The other intern I'm working with this summer has an '09 Spectra, in red. Its a great little car. Kia is really moving upmarket, along with Hyundai, but still keeping their low prices.

I have to agree that buying a new car is going to cost you far more in the long run, but you made your decision. Hopefully you can get out of the situation unscathed.

I WILL have one if they ever come out. Of course I'll wait until I can pay cash for it.

I still hope for a next gen New Beetle rather than dropping the car. I think it's been rather successful. It still sells halfway decently for being on an extremely old platform. 2010 will be the 13th model year for the NB. That's ancient for a platform. But it still looks great.

Would LOVE to see a MKVI based Beetle come out. With a sweet 2.0t and a TDI.

I think they should manufacture it. I mean, come on, a diesel engine in a two seater convertible!!! That'll get...what did they say....40 to 50mpg!?! Uh yeah...that should be a no brainer. BUT, knowing our luck, we'll have to import it over here

Michelle, that roadster is hot! Man, that would be a sweet ride. I really hope they don't get rid of the NB, no matter how old it is! I want another one eventually!
