ok vw went through like what somewhere around 17 years? befor the nb. and look.... the new beetle was a HUGE hit everyone was nuts! the auto industry had never seen anything to stay so close to its "roots" but still have more than the modern things in a car... i really think vw needs to do something with the nb, but i dont think they will drop just like that without a fight. with many other comments above i want to add that the NEW BEETLE is called that for a reason! its new, its changing, its exciting!!! thats what we all love this car for! thats why we are here... on this site, "fellowshiping" about the car we love SO much!! we will always have the classic beetle... and thats what that is the CLASSIC beetle. like i said this is new! the fun, the young, old, the proud.... the car we love no matter what!

not getting those till midway thru the model year i heard, january looks like.

didn't see the back, and don't quote me, but it kinda resembled a gti. it was a quick drive-by, so all i saw was the nose, but it definitely had the mk6 look.

if it's a scirocco (it was white, too!), i'll go $25k in debt.

The only "new" thing on a Beetle 2010 is the USB on the jumbo box..

You should read the other rumours posts about the upcoming NB. The images are OLD and the only "peek" they offer us is at how desperate the news site was for more hits.

"Concept renderings" are big money in the automotive news field. The first concept images of the new NB will be it camouflaged on a test track. Until I see that this whole section of the forum is a complete waste of time.

Yep, this is nothing but an artists rendering, nothing else. Unless it's an official VWoA communique, don't belive what you're seeing. Sorry but these upcoming beetle releases are as frequent as the "Jet Beetle" Threads that used to saturate the org many moons ago.

I know they are just renderings but ....
1) HORRIBLE front end... and is the hood longer ?
2) Did we learn nothing from the new Mazda 3, that car looks like its screaming "Weeeeeeee!". This one looks like its going too fast for its face... something along the lines of this where the air pressure is causing its cheeks to blow open ............

You know, you bring up a good point. I've heard non nB owners razz the nB, saying in jest, that the car looks like its smiling. And Lo and behold, Acura has a quasi-smile in it's TSX, and Mazda went smile crazy with it's '3' line. Who's the jester now? The 3 is an okay styled car and i'm sure the performance is good- i'm not too keen on the smiley grill

Ha ha. Exactly. Unless you've gone to a dealership and saw the window sticker, you really wouldn't know a 2010 from a 2009.

They look identical. No changes.

Last year for them, Looks as if VW is ending the Beetle run.
Or at least in a form that you would know.

Based on what information? The 2 dozen threads with fake pictures of what the next gen New Beetle is going to look like?

Or maybe the dozens of articles from VW saying that they are going to keep the NB in the line up, with the latest info saying the next gen should be out around 2012?

Care to give a link to your claim?
