Russian Factory for VW

Volkswagen a inauguré mercredi sa première usine en Russie, sur le site de Kalouga à 160 km de Moscou. La marque a investi 400 millions d'euros pour une capacité annoncée de 150.000 voitures par an. Les premières Skoda et Volkswagen sortiront début 2008. Le vice Premier ministre russe Sergei Naryshkin: "Les Russes ont aujourd'hui la possibilité de profiter de la qualité allemande avec des voitures fabriquées ici en Russie. Nous pourrons alors parler d'une qualité germano-russe qui n'existe pas encore mais qui sera bientôt effective quand l'usine sera en phase de production."

Le site se consacrera d'abord à l'assemblage des voitures et d'ici 30 mois, passera à un cycle complet de production. Selon le constructeur allemand, cette usine a permis la création de 3500 emplois.

The Russian Vice Prime minister, Sergi Naryshkin stated "Today the Russians have the possibilty to profit from German Quality with vehicles made here in Russia. We can talk about a german-russian quality which which does not exist yet, but will be very effective when the factory enters a production phase.

Today the site opens, and starts making vehicles, and in 30 months it will complete a production cycle.

The German factory will create jobs for 3500 people.

I saw a show yesterday were Jacoby said that Puebla, MX is nearing its capacity and because of the falling dollar they are looking to build VWs in the USA again maybe by 2012.

Yes, but they make some verrry smooth anti-freeze...
