Default 2012 New Beetle Turbo Launch Edition

Well this was pretty cool! I woke up this morning and got an email from VW of America.

Andrew, starting tomorrow, just 600 of The 21st Century Beetle – Black Turbo launch edition will be available for an exclusive pre-order*. And as a fan, you can be one of the few to own it. So get ready to reserve yours with a $495 deposit, for an MSRP of $24,950**, because it's going to go faster than ever before.

I just bought myself a Saab, and I personally am going to wait for them to get the bugs, out of the bug.

I agree, I would wait on the "bugs" to be taken out of the new bugs as well.

We just put a $495 deposit down on a Black Turbo Launch Edition. It is fully refundable if we back out. The suggested MSRP is NOT the price - that is determined by the stealership, which I think is totally wrong. We have to pull the trigger with the dealer by Sept. 30 or lose the reservation (deposit refunded) and delivery happens at some time later. BTW, each dealer will get a white version of this car to show off and sell. Don't know when.

There's always that possibiity with brand new models, but in the case of the now 5-year-old 2.5 gas engine, there shouldn't be any issues. Turbos are great, but I'm fine with the base 2.5. Not to mention $6000 less......
