Did anyone else know this or am I late to the game?

I drove one of those back in 92' while stationed in Germany. I was working at the bases gym for a little stress break, and it was the support vehicle. It had a lot of torque down low and I had a ton of fun in it. I think they needed some new tires by the time I went back to my unit. I see one every now and then, but it's a beater. It's a shame that VW didn't take advantage of the mini-truck craze and sell them here.

My boy friend is from south Africa, and they have all sorts of cool little cars over there, including the truck! I wish they sold stuff like that here. The have different engines and all sorts of euro cars over there. It isn't very often that you see an SUV unless you are moving cargo. Not like here where the average family has an SUV.
