One little question if I may.
What is the numbers I see behind a persons name when using the quote feature?
If I would quote myself, I see this number 454300 behind my name.

Thanks!

That number references the postid that you are quoting.

If you notice there is now an Arrow next to the "Posted by: maazja" clicking that arrow will take you to the quoted post.

Great idea to start this thread Mr. "Don't Kill Me I'm a Canadian"!
I am sure I can find multiple ways to 'bug' you with it

Mr. Canadian Sir? Can you 'splain me the multiple quote function? As in how to make it work? (I'm not as talented as Johnny)

On every post you want to multiquote, click the multiquote button.

Then when you reply it wil quote them all... I think.

What I've figured out with multi-quoting is that you go to the posts that you want to quote.
Click the multi-quote button on the posts you want to quote.
When you come to the last post you want to quote, click the quote button and you will see that all the previous clicked posts including the last one, are in you post-in-the-making.

Got it?

Thank you James!
Behind your name I see 454309.

Cool feature that when you click the arrow next to the quoted persons name, you go to the original post.

I've been getting errors when pages are loaded. The one for this page says

Line: 3915
Char: 5
Error: Object expected
Code: 0
URL: New functionality discussion

What's the issue?

Thanks!

There's no apostrophe before an 's' when you're talking about the plural version of a word. "I took some neat photo's!" is NOT correct.

What's the deal with the friend thing? Didn't we have "friends" before? What's the difference and the point?

Here is the run down Niki...

In the past we had a Buddy list which you could add people to and no one would know who your buddies were... well with the exception of the application I wrote for Member Sponsors to check and see who's buddy list their were on.

With friends its a very similar thing, you can add someone to your buddy list, and request confirmation of the fact.

Once a person has confirmed that they are a buddy of yours and adds you to their list, it becomes upgraded to friend status. Your friend list is publicly viewable, your buddy list is not.

Vbulletin officially states it as:
Quote:
As part of our new social networking system, users can now request that people on their buddy list confirm their friendship, after which time a person's list of confirmed friends will be viewable to other users.
Make more sense?

Whats the point?

Vbulletin is trying to make forums more like social networking sites (to allow your forum to compete with Facebook, myspace etc.) Another feature that was recently added to help them compete more is public messaging.

You can go onto someones profile and leave them a note which is publicly viewable for anyone else who looks at the profile.

So I guess you're seeing the error message, too. Thanks for working on it!

Will it do anything to us other than pop up a message on the bottom of the page?

Sorry to bug(ha)you again, but I have another problem. I tried to post a message for Al and it said I didn't have permission even though I'm logged it and says Welcome, CoriBug. I logged out and in and still nothing. When I go directly to the forums from Al's messages, I get logged out!! What the heck?
