New owner of the ORG!

Dear members,

I'm pleased to announce that after much thought I've decided to transfer ownership of newbeetle.org to the autoforums.com group. Since taking over from jcroft, I think the site has improved quite a bit. The traffic has shot up and the site performance has also been heavily improved. I evaluated many options before deciding to work with autoforums.com. These guys are a group of young automotive enthusiasts supported by a strong organization that pretty much guarantees that newbeetle.org will be around running like a well-tuned vehicle for years to come.

I would like to thank the staff for all their contributions, and especially noR and CrazyJames for all the help they've put in since the early years.

As for upcoming plans, Yung, the new admin will be able to fill us in.

Howdy everyone,

My name is Yung, and I will be the new admin here at newbeetle.org working closely with the existing admin/mod team to ensure that newbeetle continues to be the community it is. I am mainly your contact for any issues related to the everyday upkeep of the site from the tech side of things and to assist with the current admin team in day-to-day issues in terms of keeping things peaceful here.

I will be around at least once a day to pop in and make sure everything is smooth! I look forward to being a part of this community, and if you have any questions or concerns, about the transition, please feel free to ask me in this thread!

As Saad mentioned, we are automotive and powersports enthusiasts at AutoForums.com. Our goal is to provide the resources required to have a broader reach and attract more knowledgeable, hardcore enthusiasts to contribute that knowledge into the community. We also have a tech staff that is essentially on call 24/7 should there be any issues with connectivity or site performance.

Having said that, this is still your community and we are here to work side by side with the current administration to keep the site reliable, and running like a well-tuned Beetle.

No I don't drive a beetle. I actually don't drive much at all as I take public transit to work everyday and live in walking distance to most of the things my family needs (mainly a Starbucks and a bookstore for me )

Would love to hear your ideas. No promises but it won't hurt either. As for selling this site, I don't see that happening for a long long long long long long long long time.

Um... I'm in Canada. We don't see too many Dunkin' Donuts around here.

There are a hell of a lot Tim Horton's though ... like in every corner.

As for NB appearing on autoguide, I'll find out tomorrow.

You know, you would have thought I would of remembered that, Tim Hortons is Dunkin' Donuts alter ego. I used to work for a company in Peterborough and would travel their 2-3 times a year. If it was not for Tim Hortons I would have went in to withdrawals.
