I'm still perplexed with why it only does it on older new beetles (1997-2000) and not newer ones. I can't get it to happen on my 2003 or 2004. And you are the only one to register a compliant.

Mine is a 2001.

No idea.

I just wanted you to know anyhow. If there were more complaints, I could see modifying your design, but if I'm the only one to complain, that's good for your product then.

There's no apostrophe before an 's' when you're talking about the plural version of a word. "I took some neat photo's!" is NOT correct.

The only problem I have is in shipping these covers and making sure they don't get bent or damaged in shipping. Ebay feedback is all 100 % and no one has returned one yet.

Maybe it's just some quirk with that particular Bug Dash...Wonder if a different one would be better and not warp?
Just a thought...

I doubt it. I think my heater must get reeeeeally hot. I do find it odd that no one else's does this. But so far, no one has made the same complaint.

That's the reason I thought maybe something might have gone awry during the manufacture of yours, since yours is the only one to warp. I wouldn't think there would be that much heat temperature variation from one Beetle to the next, but I really haven't even sat in one other than mine.

The angle of my defroster vent much hit it just right. After a few mins. of the defroster warming up, my bug dash grew wings!

Umm.... mine warps in my 02... and I did complain about it earlier in this thread.

Right now I'm just putting up with the warping. It's starting to warm up a bit to where I don't need the defroster in the mornings, so it's not too bad. The real test will be when it gets hot in the summer.

I think the warping is caused by uneven heating across the cover. What happens is the sides get warm before the center does, so the hot portion bends while the center cool section doesn't. This is probably caused by the fact that it is thermoformed.

So there IS someone else!

I might put mine back on this spring, but I've got to find a way to keep the dash cover from scratching the rubberized paint on my dash.

Summer is when you need the bug dash cover the most. I just glad it does not distort to the point that it does not fit. The plastic has what is termed memory.

The heat from the defroster must be some hot and some concentrated in one spot that it raises the plastic up when its on. Once its turned off it conforms back to the shape of the dash as intended. The sticky dots would eliminate this I bet.

As callisto9 said in the thread that she linked to, I'm not putting ANY adhesive anywhere near my dash. That was the whole point of me getting this dash cover.

Default Zebra New Beetle Styling COOL WOW

I sold a Zebra covered dash cover to a customer in Kentucky and she shared some pictures of her new beetle. This is some of the best styling and accessorizing I have seen to date. Aweasome.
