Default Nubz Got Lasik Surgery! 56K Beware!

So I finally got a free weekend to install HIDs on Nubz!

Finding a place for the ballast was a real challenge, there's really no room in there... until I took the fender-liner off! I think there's more room in there than in the trunk!

So here are the results. The lights' blue-ish color don't really show up very well in these pictures. They're 4300K so they are very white with just a hint of blue. I'll probably take some more pics after the sun goes down tonight... I know I'll be trying these babies out!

That's my boyfriend's S14 next to Nubz... and while I'm at it... he's actually the one who did the install. I just watched... He's really cheap labor. He works for food.

I tried to get some pics of where the ballasts are mounted, but you can't see them at all from the engine bay. If anybody wants, I can persuade Cheap Labor to take the fender-liner off so I can snap some decent pics. You can catch just a tiny bit of the blue/red wires going from the ballast to the bulb. All the slack is bundled up inside the fender.

Night Shots! The first night I was test-driving around, the passenger side housing socket (the trapezoid thing with all the pins) worked itself loose, so I was driving around with only the driver-side HID... it was still more light than with both OEM bulbs. I didn't even notice until I got home, and then it was fixed in 5 seconds.

If you see them in person, they're instantly recognizeable as HIDs, but in pictures you really need a "dull" yellow bulb to make them look blue.

This is the passenger-side light:

Maybe I need to find a "placebo" car with regular lights to take a picture with Nubz. All our cars have HIDs.
